Date-stamped : 16 Mar94 - 10:26 Pak v NZ, ODI5, 16 Mar 94 played at Lancaster Park, Christchurch New Zealand picked up a consolation win in the fifth and final one day match against Pakistan with a seven wicket success in Christchurch. The Kiwis ended a dismal run of three defeats and a draw thanks to a century stand between opener Blair Hartland and Shane Thomson. Hartland finished unbeaten on 68 with Thomson weighing in with 48 not out. Pakistan could muster only 145-9 off their 50 overs with Basit Ali hammering three fours and a six in his defiant 57.
