Steele`s second century in successive innings was  the  highlight
of  Derbyshire`s  253  for  four - the highest-ever score for the
county against these tourists. With the second day lost to  rain,
the Indians took the opportunity of lengthy batting practice, Ar-
manath making his first century of the tour.
