- There were two stoppages for rain before a third storm
halted play at 1 p.m. and led to an official abandonment
at 2.15.
- Mr Rashid Varachia, president of the SACU, attended the match
as a guest of the RCU, and he drew Rhodesia's name out of the
hat to go through to the final. After much controversy, this was
finally accepted and Rhodesia went through to the one-day final
for the first time.
