- Hutton had a finger broken from an Edrich delivery,
- PA Gibb needed stitches after being hit on the head by a short-pitched
ball from CIJ.Smith.
- M Leyland fractured his left thumb and was forced to retire after
another blow to his hand.
- Robins allowed Wood to replace Gibb as wicket-keeper, although he was
not in the original eleven.
- W Barber kept wicket on the first day.
- Wood took two catches as substitute. C Turner and a Middlesex player
acted as the other substitute fielders.
