The ACC Trophy Elite 2008 will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 25th July to 3rd August 2008. As beaten finalists in the last tournament, Hong Kong go into the 2008 event as the second seeds in the ten team competition. Other teams in Hong Kong's group are Nepal, Singapore, Qatar and Kuwait. Top seeds for the event are UAE whilst Afghanistan and hosts Malaysia will prove to be strong contenders. Finalists of the tournament may qaualify as the two non-test playing nations at the 2010 Asia Cup.
The Hong Kong team will be leaving for Kuala Lumpur on 17th July for a pre-tournament training tour before the main event. They will play 2–3 matches against the Malaysian team and a local Expats XI.
