MDC issues warning to Millennium about erroneous Sunday Cup squad [02.03.2006]

HKCA to trial Supersub and Powerplay rules in Sunday Cup [06.02.2006]

The following details regarding the 2005-06 HKCA Sunday Cup have been agreed:-

a) The Sunday Cup will consist 10 teams; 8 league teams plus HKCC Wanderers & SCC Vagabonds.  

b) Squads must be nominated and lodged with the HKCA office before 17:00hrs on 17th February;

c) The draw for the qualifying games and 1st Round will be made on 17th February at a venue to be announced;  

d) The 2 qualifying games will be held on 26th February; the qualifying round shall consist the two bottom teams in the Sunday League at the time of the draw and the two non league teams;  

e) The 1st Round will be played on 5th March; Semis on 12th March and the final at HKCC on 19th March;  

f) In addition to the Sunday Cup eligibility rules detailed on page 27 of the 2005/2006 HKCA Handbook, it was decided that teams failing to submit their Sunday Cup squad by the deadline will be restricted to those players who have represented the team at least twice by the deadline date.

Please ensure that when nominating your squads you only include those players that have agreed to play in your squad. On a number of occasions in the past, some players have appeared in up to 3 squads. Also, when submitting your squad please include the player's HKCA registration number. Players know their registration numbers.

At HKCC (played 26.02.06): HKCC Wanderers 176 from 45 overs (Luke Sully 41, Fairclough 38*; Mohd Javed 10-2-32-4) lost to Millennium 179-2 (Ahmed Dar 107*, Mukhtar Ahmed 52) by 8 wkts

At MR (played 26.02.06): Pakistan Association Green 284-9 from 49 overs (Jamshed Khan 46, Mohammed Liaqat 119*; Tauseef Bukhari 10-2-42-3) beat Vagabonds 211 from 35.4 overs (Ankur Sharma 31, Rahul Sambhus 61, Mark Burns 51, Brad Tarr 31; Kamran Khan 9-0-42-4) by 73 runs

Round 1

At PKVR1 (played 05.03.06): Pakistan Association 175-8 from 42 overs (Nasir Hameed 30, Najeeb Amar 41, Sajid Mehmood 32; Khuram Shahzad 7-0-38-3) lost to Templars 181-5 from 33.2 overs (Jamie Atkinson 43, Rohan Boghani 33) by 5 wkts  

At HKCC (played 05.03.06): Optimists 237-7 from 50 overs (Mark Eames 33, Shane Sibraa 32, Aaron Stewart 36) beat LSW 139 from 35.5 overs (Nadeem Ahmed 40; Chris Williams 7.5-2-33-4) by 99 runs

At MR (played 05.03.06): Match reduced to 40 overs per side. Scorpions 219-8 from 40 overs (Mark Kratzman 56, Toby Brown 69*; Asif Mirza 8-0-45-5) beat Millenium 176 from 32.4 overs (Aftab Ahmed 35, Yasir Khan 82; Gopal Lalchandani 8-3-23-4) by 43 runs

At MR (played 12.03.06): Vagabonds 312-4 (P Chandra 36, Rahul Sambhus 55, Ankur Sharma 90, Tauseef Bukhari 49*, R Nanda 33*) beat Infidels 220 (Ravi Sujanani 40, Anthony Barnet 102; Mark Burns 10-1-34-3, Ian Beck 7-0-47-3) by 92 runs

Semi-Finals

At MR (played 19.03.06): Scorpions 283-9 (Mark Kratzman 125, Chris O'Sullivan 31, Toby Brown 53) beat SCC Vagabonds 249 (Chandra 82, Ankur Sharma 60; Mark Kratzman 10-0-55-3) by 34 runs  

At HKCC (played 19.03.06): Templars 274-8 (Jamie Atkinson 40, Amjad Mahmood 81, Shakawat Ali 61*; Natasha Miles 9-1-43-3) beat Optimists 231 (Mark Eames 38, James Callow 33; Khuram Shahzad 8-0-48-3, Amjad Mahmood 10-0-47-3) by 43 runs
