Ireland v Scotland, 21-23 August 1999
Press Release
The traditional three-day, first class match between Scotland and Ireland returns to the international programme this year, the tours by Bangladesh and Australia 'A' to Scotland and Ireland in 1998 having made it impossible to fit this fixture into the programme last year. The match will be played at the North of Ireland Cricket Club, Belfast, on Saturday 21, Sunday 22 and Monday 23 August 1999.
The first Scotland/Ireland match took place in 1909, and apart from disruption during the war years (and 1998!) has been played every year since then. Of the 83 matches actually played so far Scotland has won 28, Ireland have won 19 and 36 have been drawn.
There are no new caps in the Scotland team to travel to Belfast.
