Griffin's 121 off 93 balls was the inspiration for victory over Leicestershire, as well being part of a stand of 225 with Kafeel Jahangir, who made 92.
Their partnership was only 10 runs short of overhauling the competition's record for the fourth wicket, set by David and Clive Lloyd for Lancashire against Gloucestershire at Old Trafford 21 years ago.
