Durham v Nottinghamshire, National League 2nd Division Tim Wellock at Riverside - 12 August 1999 Durham double up Durham (164-6) bt Notts (163-7) by 4 wkts Suggestions that Durham should become the Doormats rather than the Dynamoes were wiped out by a second win in three days, giving them successive victories in the one-day league for the first time in four years. Nottinghamshire have become Durham's rabbits, being one of only four Sunday League victims last season as well as losing the last three championship matches. After winning only one of their first 10 National League games, Durham were clearly lifted by Tuesday's triumph in Cardiff, and a clinical performance in the field yesterday kept the shackles on the visiting side. John Wood had the most economical nine-over spell by a Durham bowler in this competition with one for 22, while Neil Killeen bowled his first seven overs for eight runs. Only when Vasbert Drakes and Alex Wharf proffered some forthright blows in the last two overs, which yielded 21 runs, did Nottinghamshire break free. Drakes then took five wickets but Nick Speak (45 not out) saw Durham home with 13 balls to spare.
