Northamptonshire v Sussex, National League 2nd Division, 1999 Electronic Telegraph - 3 May 1999
Robinson steers Sussex to the topSeamer Mark Robinson was the bane of Northamptonshire, one of his former counties, with four for 34 to point Sussex towards victory by 68 runs at Northampton and a share of the lead in Division Two with Glamorgan and Middlesex. Robinson had Mal Loye caught off his first ball and then Matthew Hayden and David Sales caught on the charge during a spell of three for 21 from 21 balls as Northants laboured to 62 for four in 20 overs in pursuit of a victory target of 199. Tony Penberthy was Northamptonshire's mainstay, giving their innings substance with a determined 44 before left-arm spinner Umer Rashid polished them off with four for 32. Sussex, who slumped to 89 for five after winning the toss, were galvanised by an enterprising 62 from Tony Cottey, his best score since joining them from Glamorgan this season.
