Sussex v Derbyshire, National League Second Division, 1999 The Electronic Telegraph - 25 April 1999
Derbyshire are hit hard by AdamsCHRIS ADAMS, the Sussex captain, made 57 in a first meeting with former colleagues since his acrimonious departure from Derbyshire in 1997 to help steer his side to an 11-run win under Duckworth-Lewis rules at Hove. Victory owed marginally more to two new signings making one-day debuts for the county. Richard Montgomerie's undefeated 61 gave the reply its solidity, while slow left-armer Umer Rashid's three for 13 earlier so stifled Derbyshire that, in spite of Dominic Cork's 61 not out, they could muster only 181 for seven. Things were less happy for the Tasmanian recruit Michael Di Venuto, who has fallen for a golden duck in each of his first two innings at Hove.
