Muralitharan was awarded the Man of the Match award for his 5/34, the award consisted of a small replica of the trophy and a cheque this was presented by David Gower.
Marvin Atapattu was named Player of the Tournament by Barry Richards, he also received a replica of the trophy and a cheque.
This is the first three-way tournament in England since the Triangular Test Tournament of 1912 has begun. England, Sri Lanka and South Africa are contesting four match series; the winner will be decided on August 20th.
