East Zone won the toss and elected to field. Ibrahim Khalil and VikramKumar opened the South Zone innings. Ibrahim lost his wicket in the fourth over, giving a simple catch to Javed Ali behind the stumps. This was followed by a 54 runs partnership for the second wicket between Vikram Kumar and Deepak Chowgle. Vikram and Deepak scored 30 and 29 runs respectively. Thereafter the innings collapsed and wickets fell in quick succession. The South Zone innings folded at 170 in 43 overs.

The runs were scored at a fairly brisk rate in 169 minutes. Debashish Mandal took 4 wickets for 38 runs. In reply, East Zone successfully chased the victory target in exactly 43 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Abishek Jhunjhunwala top-scored with 50 and Sandeep Vig contributed 42. RD Souza took 3 for 36 and Appa Rao captured 2 wickets for 32 runs. East Zone won this match by 5 wickets.
