Central Zone continued their winning spree. They defeated South Zone by six wickets. South Zone batted first after losting the toss. The match was reduced to a 25 overs affair following due to bad weather. South Zone innigs could not last the stipulated quota of overs. The entire team was bundled out for 82 in 23.2 overs. Deepak Chowgule (29) and Ibrahim Khalil (24) were the main contributors. Yoginder Panchal struck four times in 4 overs to wreck the innings.

Though Central Zone also started disastrously, losing two wickets for 22, they managed to achieve the target losing another two wickets in the process, in 21.4 overs. Central Zone thus lifted the Vijay Hazare Trophy garnering an unassailable tally of 7 points on penultimate day of the tournament. The remaining matches are now of academic interest.
