Jammu & Kashmir v Haryana (Ranji One-day, North Zone)
Shiv Chander Sharma, CricInfo
6 November 1998
JAMMU - The visitors Haryana registered a 70 run win over their hosts
Jammu and Kashmir in the North Zone One-day tie, played at MA Staduim
here today.
After winning the toss, Haryana opted to bat. They were in trouble as
five wickets fell for 91 runs. However an unbeaten sixth-wicket stand
between Shafiq Khan (52*) and Dhanraj Singh (59*) produced 109 runs.
Haryana finished at 213 for 7 in 50 overs.
Jammu and Kashmir, in reply, started on a weak note by losing quick
wickets. The hosts were 9 for 81 and one stage, and a sub-100 total
looked on the cards. The final pair of skipper Sanjay Sharma and
Surinder took the Jammu and Kashmir score to 143 in 49.5 overs, but it
was not enough. Sanjay remained 53 not out and the last-wicket
partnership yielded 62 runs.
