The hosts Jammu & Kashmir notched their maiden victory in the Ranji
One-day tournament of the current season by defeating Himachal Pradesh
by 11 runs, at MA Stadium in Jammu.
After winning the toss, Jammu & Kashmir scored 173 all out in the
allotted 50 overs. Kanwaljit Singh top-scored with 53 with Idrees
Gandroo chipping in with 36 runs. Dhruv Gupta, who made his debut for
Jammu and Kashmir, bowled a tidy spell of 8.9 overs to give away just
eight runs.
Himachal Pradesh failed to achieve the target and were bundled out for
162 in 46.5 overs, despite opener Nichal Gaur's superb 81. The other
batsmen played carelessly with three of them succumbing to run-outs.
