Date-stamped : 16 Jun97 - 10:20 When Worcestershire, facing a modest target of 178, were re- duced to 16 for four by Mike Smith and Jon Lewis they seemed doomed but recovered splendidly and finally lost only by one run to Gloucester- shire. Gavin Haynes bustled to 45, then David Leatherdale, 51, and Stuart Lampitt, 31 not out, added 83 in 13 overs before the former was brilliantly caught at long-on with three balls left. With five runs needed off two balls Worcestershire still had a chance but Australian Shaun Young kept his head.
