Whittall was charged by ICC match referee Raman Subba Row for breaching the ICC's code of conduct (3) regarding dissent.
``After excessive appealing by players on both sides during the two Test matches and complaints from one in writing. I called the two captains together this morning (Sunday) to emphasise the need for moderation'', said Subba Row.
``In addition, I specifically asked both captains to tell their bowlers not to run at the wicket-keeper following an appeal without ascertaining the result of that appeal,'' said Subba Row.
``Guy Whittall did precisely that which brought about his charge,'' he said.
