KARACHI, Nov 26: West Indies strike bowler Curtly Ambrose is a doubtful starter for the second Test against Pakistan starting at Rawalpindi from Saturday.

The big bowler is suffering from a bad back and underwent two sessions of physiotherapy at the Aga Khan Hospital on Wednesday. Ambrose will be treated again Thursday morning before the team leaves for Islamabad later in the evening. According to reports, Ambrose's back was bothering him for the last three months and over-bowling on the current tour of Pakistan has further compounded his problems. Nevertheless, team management emphasised that Ambrose would be fit before the second Test. Franklyn Rose, who was suffering from a bad stomach, has also regained complete fitness. The West Indies underwent a strenuous training camp at the National Stadium on Wednesday. The camp lasted about six hours as the batsmen made desperate efforts to get in their best before the final two Tests of the tour.

Around half a dozen local bowlers, including four spinners, provided the West Indies batsmen with some valuable batting practice after their crucial three-dayer could not be held because of PCB's ill-planning and the tourists persistence to stay in the hotel mentioned in their tour itinerary.

According to reports reaching here from Islamabad, it rained in the federal capital on Tuesday which reportedly left the square wet and soggy. Local officials stated that the ground did not have the facility to cover the five-pitch square. The cloudy weather on Wednesday further dampened the hopes of the local authorities. The weather forecast for Thursday and Friday is also not very encouraging as the sky will remain overcast with chances of rain.
