Malaysians taste first win of tourBy Our Sports Reporter24 January 1998KARACHI, Jan 23: The touring Mayalsian cricketers beat Aero Asia by 31 runs Pak Gymkhana got the better of Adamson University by seven wickets in the Seventh CCP Ramazan Festival cricket tournament over here. Put into bat after losing the toss, the Malaysians scored 203 for 5 in the 25 allotted through Suresh Singh (62), Matthew Williams (55) and Segran Vello (27). Mohammad Ali bagged 2/30. Aero Asia in reply were bowled out for 172 runs in 24.2 overs, with Faysal Sharif (41), Asif Islam (33) and Imran Tabani (28) among the runs. Ramesh Menon picked up 4/27 for the visitors. In the other encounter, Adamson University batting first after winning the toss were skittled out for 114 runs with Mohammad Zeeshan (28) being the top scorer. Mutashim Rasheed 2/22, Yaha Toor 2/21 and Kashid Ahmed 2/5 caused the debacle. Pak Gymkhana in reply achieved the winning target in 20.3 overs after losing only three wickets. Muthair Shah (28) and Atta ur Rehman (21) were the main scorers.
