Date-stamped : 03 Oct97 - 14:16 03 October 1997 Easy win for Pakistan: Gavaskar Sports Correspondent LAHORE, Oct 2: World top run-getter in Test cricket Sunil Gavaskar has described Pakistan's win over India in the crunch third one-day international at Qadhafi Stadium as "comprehensive"! Talking to reporters soon after the game, Sunil Gavaskar said that Pakistan team dominated in all departments of cricket. He specially praised the powerful batting of Ejaz Ahmad and Shahid Afridi. He said that Ejaz was in terrific form and he really exposed the weaknesses of the Indian bowling. When he was asked to comment on the Indian batting, Gavaskar said: "Leave it at what they did, you only see what Pakistan did". Gavaskar parried a question about behaviour of the crowd in this match. "Better put this question to the players who were in the ground. I was sitting here in VIP room", said Gavaskar smilingly. Gavaskar suggested that both the Pakistan and India cricket boards should continue to host series in both the countries. That would help in reducing 'tension' of crowd over a defeat or a win. The crowd will get used to after seeing wins and defeats more often. Former Test captain and national coach, Intikhab Alam said that Pakistan registered a "fantastic victory"! He said that India team was weak in bowling and it helped Pakistan team in winning comfortably. Praising Pakistani bowling and fielding, he said that it was of high-class in all respects. Replying to a question, Intikhab Alam said that the Pakistan team should not become complacent because its next rival was a strong side like South Africa. They would not allow the Pakistani batsmen to maul their bowlers in this manner. Source:: Dawn (http://dawn.com/) Contributed by The Management (help@cricinfo.com)
