8th ODI: Australia v South Africa, Match Report Harsha Bhogle - 1 November 1996 Klusener makes most of upgrade Lance Klusener was South Africa's unexpected batting hero in the Titan Cup here yesterday. He shrugged off a disappointing bowling performance with an exciting innings of 88 from 98 balls after being promoted to No 3. That innings, along with a cultured 68 from Andrew Hudson, made a potentially difficult target look easy. Australia must have fancied their chances after making 238 for six. Michael Bevan produced another gem (79 from 70 balls) and Michael Slater a redeeming half-century. But it was not enough. Indeed, nothing seems to be good enough against this South African side, who have won 25 of their 28 one-day internationals this year and will be firm favourites to win Wednesday's final in Bombay against either Australia or the hosts.
