Date-stamped : 21 Oct96 - 06:17 20 October 1996 Culture Shock For South African Players Indian shock number one for the SA Cricketers came moments after walking out of Hyderabad airport. Their designated bus was a bat- tered 1950s primary school model that looked like it had been through several world wars. "What," cried coach and former England test player Bob Woolmer. "Not again! We had this one on my last tour in 1976!" Shock number two: the driver adopted a unique side-saddle posi- tion so that he could talk to the team while keeping a quarter of an eye on the road. "Where Jonty Rhodes? Where Jonty Rhodes" he kept asking as rikshaws, bicycles and cows swerved out of the way. Both bus and driver were later replaced.
