The second one day International between India and Zimbabwe was cancelled because of unplayable conditions at the Harare Sports Club. As soon as the Indian team reached the Harare airport from Bulawayo, the Harare cricket administrators informed the team that the decision to call off the match was taken at 10 a.m. (130 p.m. IST time) on Sunday.
The Indian team, which was scheduled to fly to London before reaching Mumbai, will now fly to Nairobi on Monday morning. From there the team will take a flight on Monday night and reach Mumbai on Tuesday around 4 a.m.
The Indian team was covertly pleased by the developments on Sunday afternoon. The team hopes to be in India two days before the scheduled arrival on February 19. The team was aware that the match would be an unlikely starter. Even all the football matches at Harare were cancelled because of water logged ground.
According to supporters of Zimbabwe, who had come in from Harare for the Bulawayo match, there has been sunshine in Harare only for three days in a period of one and a half months. According to them even the pitch has been damaged by the heavy showers in the last 15 days.
