Wicketkeeper Palframan was the man who set the tone, getting the innings off to a flying start with 64 from just 62 balls, including 10 fours. His skipper maintained that pace, posting 68 off just 72 deliveries, with five fours and a six, a collection of boun- daries matched by Cronje, who ended with an undefeated 54 from 60 balls. ====> more Border cruise in by 71 runs Western Transvaal were never in the hunt after being set a formidable target of 245 by Border in their Benson and Hedges day-night cricket match at Fochville on Friday. The home side capitulated for 171 in just 39 overs, going down by 73 runs to a side who had earlier torn their bowl- ing attack apart. Six of the Westerns batsmen managed to get into double figures, but only one, Shaun Nicolson, got past 20. He cracked 64 off 73 balls, reaching the boundary seven times, as he tried to keep alive his side`s faint hopes. But Border made regular breakthroughs, preventing the home side from getting any momentum going, with seamer Piet Botha picking up 2/24 and veteran spinner Ian Howell 3/23.
