After bowling the last delivery of the match, Benjamin  retrieved
the  ball  and beat Donald`s attempt at the winning single with a
direct hit on the stumps at the bowler`s end. The scores remained
tied,  and  Leicestershire  went through with a two-wicket advan-
tage. Having chosen to bat on a slow  pitch, Leicestershire   had
found  scoring difficult, particularly against Small, who removed
both Boon and Whitaker in a mean opening spell. Robinson overcame
early  uncertainties to lead a recovery from 34 for three, adding
95 with Smith for the fourth wicket. Even so, a modest 207 should
have been well within WarwickshireUs reach, especially with Moles
providing a typically sturdy foundation.  However,  after  Ostler
and  Penney had brought the target within what seemed comfortable
reach, a series of misjudgments in running, compounded  by  Burns
throwing  away  his  wicket with only nine wanted from two overs,
undid the visitors.
