Date-stamped : 16 Sep94 - 10:30 Benson & Hedges Cup, 1993. Round 1, 11 May 1993 Stockton: DURHAM v HAMPSHIRE Hants won toss HAMPSHIRE WON BY 3 WICKETS. MoM: W. Larkins Hampshire won the match with 5 balls to spare after taking nine off the penultimate over, bowled by Hughes, who had given Durham hope in his previous over by removing Terry for 79. Terry shared crucial stands with James and Aymes after Hampshire had been re- duced to 113 for five, Cummins taking two wickets in his second spell on his home debut. His triumphant dance on bowling fellow-Barbadian Marshall was one of the features of the match. Had he been allowed to complete his remaining three overs at that point the outcome might have been different; he was all too clearly struggling against the evening chill when he returned. Durham were left to regret losing the toss. Extravagant movement off the seam in the morning had reduced them to 39 for three, and Larkins showed admirable application in reaching an unbeaten cen- tury; Durham`s first in the competition.
