Date-stamped : 16 Sep94 - 10:30 Benson & Hedges Cup, 1993, Round 1, 11 May 1993 Derbyshire v Middlesex, Derby. Derbyshire won by 14 runs. MoM.: C.J. Adams Chasing a target of 4.6 an over, Middlesex began by hitting 26 off the first two: Roseberry began by hitting his first three balls from Malcolm for four and Haynes hit three fours off Cork. Middlesex were still strongly placed when the openers reached 100 in the 23rd over. However, Warner had already begun a controlled spell of 11 overs for 29 and Griffith changed the picture by dismissing Haynes and Ramprakash with successive balls. Bishop, in his only game of the season, had Carr caught at mid-ff and, with Gatting still injured, Middlesex`s batting finally proved too brittle. The Derbyshire innings had been dominated by Morris and Adams, who put on 97 in 18 overs, but Cork`s late runs were also vital. Thanks: 1994 Wisden Contributed by cp (help@cricinfo.com)
