Zimbabwe batted first on a moist wicket and hit 187 for seven in their 48 overs. Opening batsman and skipper Andy Flower scored an impressive 50 and was declared the man of the match. David Houghton added 54, hitting four fours and a six. Saiful Islam turned in Bangladesh's best bowling figures, taking two for 26. In response, Bangladesh were all out for 174, with Minhajul Abedin putting up a defiant 53 before he was run out. The home team was briefly close to victory at 170 for six with four overs to go. But their chance disappeared as their tailenders fell with only four runs added to the scorecard. Ali Shah and Stephen Peall of Zimbabwe took two wickets each for 24 and 26 respectively.
