Match 2, Levin Domain, Levin
Jason - 20 Jan 1994

CricInfo report

Australia bounced back from its 3 wicket loss in Auckland to comfortably level the 3 match series with a 43 run win. New Zealand kept the Australian batswomen in check quite nicely for most of the innings. The 47 run opening partnership was broken by the first match hero Emily Drumm, who took 2 quick wickets.

At 129-4 after 47 of the 50 it appeared that Australia had been well restricted, but Calver's 24 not out from 19 balls meant that 34 runs came from the last three overs. Therefore New Zealand had to make a challenging 164.

Opener Penny Kinsella played a lovely cameo knock, and with Debbie Hockley in good support New Zealand were in with a chance. However Bow bowled Kinsella around her legs for 38, and she and Bradley tied up the middle order, Bow taking 3-17 and Bradley 014 from their respective 10 overs. Nobody else scored double figures as he middle and lower order collapsed to accurate bowling and fired up fielding.
