Frankston Peninsula were unable to come to terms  with  Northcote
fast  bowler  Adam  McGinty who dismissed the first three batsmen
for 0, then the number four for 1 to have them 4/2.  He  finished
with 5 for 33 as the Peninsula struggled to 123, the middle order
scored some runs but Shaun Graf top scored  with  26.   Peninsula
went  much  better  second  time round with 2-122 Robinson 79 and
Hurley 30 the not out batsmen.  Corbett took 4-54  in  the  first
innings.

South Melbourn batted on but added only 11 runs  against  Fiztroy
Doncaster   who   easily   score  the  required  291 runs.  Joyce
86, McDonald 66*, & Hampton 53 did the bulk of the scoring.

Dandenong-Waverly were able to do to North Melbourne  what  North
had  failed  to  do on consecutive weeks bowl out a side in time.
North managed 248 in reply to DW's 336 with Connell 69  and   Ed-
dings  52  the  best.  Pickering run out for 0 was a blow. DW had
time to bat again and were 1-48

Hathorn pushed on to 321 and then bowled Richmond  out  for  270.
Francis's  6-109 the telling infleunce. David Harris (82) & Brian
Skinner (71) gave Richmond a good start but only Cowper (52) con-
tinued it on.

Merv Hughes comeback match was succesful for Footscray  who  kept
St  Kilda to just 208 Warren Whiteside top scored for the batting
side with 86 not out. He recieved little assistance however. merv
Hughes took 3-36 and it was an impressive Footscary bowling line-
up with dropped Victorian bowler Tony Dodemaide taking 2-42.

Ringwood comfortably defeated Geelong with  openers  Clarke  (92)
and  Foster  (89)  scoring well before a minor collapse after the
passing Geelong's total and then Paul Meddings 70* increased  the
score  to 315.Smith the best of the bowlers with 3-52. Stacey ex-
pensive with 1-94 off 16.

Prahran struggled for runs against Melbourne but still  won  com-
fortably  chasing  130  Kyle Malligan (53) and Julien Weiner (40)
saw them comfortbaly through to 227  a  lead  of  97.   Melbourne
bat-  ting   a  second time were 3-115 with number 5 Rhett Bowden
thrashing 81 not out.

Carlton's Rohan Larkin scored 91 to guide them to a close victory
over  Collingwood.  Chasin  186  Carlton  were  all  out for 201.
Openers Ward (27) and Williams (39) made a reasonable start   and
Larkins  scored well, however the rest were less than perfect the
middle order having scores of 0,6,7,4,0,0,0.  Then bowling   hero
Sniegowski  stayed with Larkin and they managed to get the points
before Larkin was dismissed for 91.
Collingwood 186 lost to Carlton 201

University just overcame the imposing Essendon  total  of  7-335.
Good  batting  from  Wayne  Phillips  (47),  Geoff Allardice (57)
Matthew Bolton (75) Neil Strong(88) and a couple of  good   lower
order innings saw them reach 9 for 340.
