VCA
In the second set of one day games.

Carlton 155 lost to Melbourne 4-224
Darren Ramshaw's good form for Melbourne continued with 65, and
Ayres 45 combined with Herman's 43 & 2-23 saw them home easily
against Carlton who made 155 with Cook bowling well for 3-31.
Cain Logan the only Carlton player over 20.

Prahran 131 lost to Ringwood 4-187
Prahran was well held by Ringwood, struggling to only 131 only 1
batsmen passing 22. Michael Foster with 4-19 was the best of an
even bunch of bowlers. In reply Brendan Ricci (67*) and Brett
Montgomery(47) easily passed the total

Richmond crushed unbeaten Dandenon Waverly. Scorint a good 186
with Andrew Cowper top scorint with 56, DW batted disastrously
making 65. Brendan McArdle the captain(10) and no 11 Paul
McDonald with 14 not out were the only players to pass 10. bowl-
ing figures Coloe 10-4-12-0 Albers 10-2-18-3 Notaris 9-1-15-3
McAree 10-3-17-1 Parker 2.2-1-3-1. (Beat that LT)

Hawthorn 6-182 lost to Collingwood 3-194
In a (relatively) high scoring game Hawthorn was unable to defend
182 with Collingwood batsmen Amalfi (43), Johnson (77*), and
Emerson (53*) helping them to victory.

Fitzroy Doncaster 262 d Footscray 217
Another high scoring game saw the Watts bro' combine with state
keeper to take Fitzroy Doncaster to 262. (Gary 56 Leigh 75* Berry
62) Footscay started well with both openers scoring near 50
though both were run out. the innings however fizzled as they
were all out for 217 only two other bats passing 10.

St Kilda 148 lost to Northcote 5-163
St Kilda struggled to 148 off their 50 overs against Northcote
but it was not enough as Northcote passed the score with 5 wick-
ets down.

University 4-227 d Frankston Peninsula 192
The peninsula put up a better effort but University still got
their first points as Geoff Allardice continued his impressive
grade career with 113. Deighton of Frankston got a promotion but
only made 29 as Frankston fell 35 runs short.

Essendon 8-174 d Geelong 172
Geelong lost,... just. Batting first Essendon made 174. With
Leehane scoring 64 not out, with slight assistance from most
batsmen. The quick quick Quick took 2 for 34. Smith though was
expensive. in reply Geelong lost the first three for less than
double figures each including the reliable Kevin Neville, Jason
Bakker however steadied the innings and with keeper Goggin bat-
ting at 7 they took the side to the brink of victory before both
were run out and the bowlers were agonizingly unable to do the
jobs as they finished at all out for 172 with an over to
go!

North Melbourne 192 lost to South Melbourne 194
My other team North Melbourne also lost.... by 4 runs. Bad start
when openers wer both out by 2. captain Liam Pickering (46) and
Eddings (52) steadied and Connel (47) took the score to 192.
State bowler Damien Fleming took 4-32 to make it back to the
state team. South's openers Hewitt and Hanson took 116 minues to
score 106, and then the lower order got them home by 4 runs.
