Collingwood outrightly defeated Northcote after dismissing them
in thier second innings for 69 and getting the required run was a
bit of a struggle losing 6 wickets. Bailey of Collingwood took
5-30.

Fiztory Doncast and Frankston Peninsula were unable to come to
any result as the peninsula were 6-250 at the close Deighton
again proving to be the peninsula's major contributer with 75
whilst Brad Glenn helped with 51
Melbourne 207 d Footscray 171 & 88
Inspite of a brilliant 7 for 19 from state bowler Melbourne were
unable to find time to beat Footscray outright after dismissing
them for 88 in their second innings. Warren Ayres 82 and Steve
McCooke 52 gave Mebourne a 36 run lead but the required 51 from
2 overs was out of Melbourne's reach.
Richmond 8-280 & 1-42 d University 218
Legspinner Steve Milosz's (WA?) 6 for 89 lead Prahran to a first
innings victory over Carlton inspite of Carlton's new buy Ian
Wrigglesworth 53. Prahan 4-295 & 1-49 d Carlton 228 A even
bowling effort saw Richmond defeat University on first innings
despite captain Geoff Allardice's 57 and some late hitting.
Dandenong-Waverly 6-351 d St Kilda 6-274
Saint Kilda batted on to declare at 6-274 with Warren Whiteside
scoring 108 not out but were still thrashed by Dandenong Waverly
as young state player Ian Harvey blasted 121 from 125 balls as
they totted up 6 for 351.
Geelong 7-296 & 2-70 d Hawthorn 127
Geelong's quick bowlers including Quick (hah!) put pressure on
Hawthorn's batsmen as nobody passed 24.
Ringwood 241 d South Melbourne 241
Ringwood crawled past South Melbournes score for first innings
points.
North Melbourne 4-364 d Essendon 268
The mighty Roos swamped Essendon as Matt Grace took 4 for 38
after Muscat took two early wickets, Grace taking the wickets of
top scorers Matthews Drain (81) and Young (65). Brilliant.
