- TA Lloyd became the first Shropshire-born cricketer to play
for England
Day 1
- TA Lloyd retired hurt at 20/2 (struck on the helmet around
the temple by a ball from Marshall). He was hospitalised for
several days with blurred vision, and did not play again
until 1985. This was also his only Test appearance.
Day 2
- IVA Richards passes 5000 runs, the 4th WI batsman to do so.
