The Australian Malone, playing his first first-class match for Lancashire, gained an early wicket on the third and last day when he dismissed Chauhan after Lee had sent back Gaekwad in the second over. Yajurvindra batted well for 47 before the tourists declared at 96 for three, leaving Lan- cashire a possible 75 minutes batting. With only 1 run scored, by Hayes, from four deliveries, bad light and then rain doomed a disappointing match to a draw without either side hav- ing any real opportunity to impress.
