18 November 1999

The four day match between India A and Trinidad & Tobago, at the FCB Clarke Road United Grounds in Penal, which was badly disrupted by rain ended in a draw yesterday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 123-6, Trinidad & Tobago were all out in the space of 21 balls for the addition of just one run to concede a first innings lead of 103. India A however failed to make the most of the opportunity for some useful batting practice as they were all out for 163 in their second knock. Sameer Dighe was the top scorer with 49 and he and Harvinder Sodhi (31) put on 56 for the sixth wicket in the only sizable partnership of the innings. Jacob Martin who top scored with 81 in the Indian first innings total of 227, made only 11 this time around. Spinners Mukesh Persad (5-46) and Dinanath Ramnarine (3-53) were among the wickets again. They finished with match hauls of eight wickets each and Ramnarine got the Man of the Match award for his labours.
